La Red de Bancos de Alimentos de México (BANMX) ha logrado un impacto significativo en la lucha contra la inseguridad alimentaria. En el último año, la organización ha rescatado y distribuido más de 450,000 toneladas de alimentos, beneficiando a más de 1.8 millones de personas en situación de vulnerabilidad en todo el país.
Este esfuerzo, que representa un hito en la labor de BANMX, ha sido posible gracias a la colaboración con productores, empresas, y voluntarios que, conscientes de la crisis alimentaria, se han sumado a la misión de reducir el desperdicio de alimentos y apoyar a quienes más lo necesitan.
El programa de rescate de alimentos de BANMX se enfoca en recuperar productos aptos para el consumo humano que, de otro modo, serían desechados. Estos alimentos son posteriormente redistribuidos a familias, comedores comunitarios, y organizaciones sociales en las regiones más afectadas por la pobreza y la marginación.
El presidente de BANMX destacó que estos resultados son producto de un esfuerzo conjunto que no solo aborda la seguridad alimentaria, sino que también contribuye a la sostenibilidad al reducir el impacto ambiental que genera el desperdicio de alimentos.
Este logro de la Red BANMX subraya la importancia de la solidaridad y la cooperación para combatir la desigualdad y garantizar que millones de mexicanos tengan acceso a una alimentación digna y adecuada.
