Ciudad de México, 31 de agosto de 2025 – El Gobierno de Claudia Sheinbaum ha iniciado el proceso para disolver la empresa Fonatur Tren Maya, creada en 2018 para la planeación y operación del Tren Maya, según lo publicado este viernes en el Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF).
La decisión se fundamenta en que la empresa, de participación estatal mayoritaria, no cumplió con los objetivos para los que fue fundada. La liquidación, que deberá completarse en un plazo máximo de 12 meses, pone fin a la existencia de la entidad.
La disolución de la empresa fue aprobada en junio y, de acuerdo con las disposiciones publicadas en el DOF, la entidad solo continuará operando con el fin exclusivo de concluir su proceso de liquidación. Los recursos restantes, una vez finalizado el proceso, serán transferidos a la Tesorería de la Federación.
Para este proceso, no se asignará presupuesto adicional; se utilizarán los fondos que la empresa ya tenía disponibles. Asimismo, se ha enfatizado que se garantizarán los derechos laborales de todos los trabajadores de la empresa.
Con esta medida, el Gobierno federal busca optimizar y reestructurar la gestión del proyecto del Tren Maya.
El Tren Maya, una de las obras de infraestructura más emblemáticas del sexenio anterior, continuará bajo la supervisión y operación de otras entidades gubernamentales, mientras se completa la disolución de Fonatur Tren Maya.
